  In the beginning, there was Prince. The Kid from Minneapolis to the crystalline voice and his opus "Parade". A slap sonic. Or rather a caress. Silky. Delectable. From that mark you for life. And you certainly transformed. We are in 1986. Julien is not even DJ Chokolate but the mutation is running. "Crate Digger" unrepentant Chokolate sharing, therefore, his time and money between Paris and New York, squatting tirelessly for hours, ferry abundant record stores, looking for nuggets that distills his sets at private home, throwing with ease bridges between funk and fruitiness grinding rap, soul and jazz coaxing subdued, as many chapels built on the same basis: Jesgrew (Just Groove), the cornerstone, the essence of black music. Charmed by the skill and the creative ferment of DJ Spinna, Cut Chemist and Numark other, crowned head of the platinum and agitators of ideas of underground American Chokolate learns during a year under the auspices Turntablism DJ Khalid - Champion de France Scratch DMC 2000 - who taught him the basics. Armed with an array of EPs of remixes U.S. hip-hop (from Talib Kweli to Mobb Deep through a special Notorious BIG) and a double mixtape funk 70's and Rap, the Agreed relookeur preparing to release a string projects: the tape "French Hip-Hop Is Dead", smelling good rap in the 90's Dad (CD dedicated to rap in Paris and another to rap Phocaean), available for free download, with a maxi Akil, former Jurassic 5 and a debut album due out at the end of the year. |
